Edinburgh International Kendo Enbu Taikai (IKET)
IKET is a major European kendo event hosted by Edinburgh Kendo Club and the British Kendo Association. It has taken place in 2004, 2005, and 2006. There will be more held in the future.
We are lucky to have contacts with some very famous kendo teachers from Japan. The 2004, 2005, and 2006 delegation leader was Sumi Masatake sensei, hachidan hanshi, who was ably assisted with many other famous sensei from Japan, the U.K., and Europe.
The 2nd and 3rd IKETs were featured in both Kendo Jidai and Kendo Nippon magazines in Japan.
