EKC Dojo Leader, Steve Bishop and ECK member Kristián Dela Cour attended the 3rd Northern Open Taikai (3 person team) event, held in Newcastle. Their team was made up by a wandering Welsh Kendoka, Andre Le Roux (3rd Dan),
All participants had a great day out, even though the start was rather early (05:30 rise). Lots of Shiai for all as the pools were decided by using a round robin system. And for some, lots of referee-ing too.
The gold medals were eventually fought out between Taiseidokia A team (Glasgow) v GB A with Taiseidokia taking the honours after a hard fought match.
Steve, Kristián & Andre came third in their pool and got knocked out shortly after but nonetheless, they had a great time and fought well.
